I wanted to bring you some encouragement and hope.
In Hebrews 12 it says:
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
My question is; how do we overcome?
By fixing our eyes on Jesus…And running the race marked out for us.
So often I have ignored or just not seen or heard what God was asking me to do because, I believe we have been conditioned in this world to dismiss that which seems ‘bizarre” or ‘outlandish’. Yet when I read scripture, when God speaks, it’s not just to make us feel nice, it’s for a purpose. For our being built up or to encourage others or to act in order for Gods purposes to be fulfilled.
I believe we have been given a great opportunity to hit the RE-SET button in the church, in order to RE-EVALUATE who and what we are. To be able to RE-FOCUS, so we can worship our Heavenly Father and seek His desire to reach out to people, for God so loved the world (all people), His focus is people.
We need to RE-MIND ourselves or RE-LEARN what is important and what’s ESSENTIAL, as well as learning how to DE-CLUTTER. To invest our time with the right priorities and learning to RE-ORDER what those priorities are.
To be reminded that we have died to SIN, so DON’T live in it!
I’m reminded of the story of the ten virgins in Matthew 25:1-13…are we prepared!
To know that we have been justified, reconciled and made righteous, not because we are great, but because He is great.
Romans 5:1-5 says
Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we[a] have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we[b] boast in the hope of the glory of God. 3 Not only so, but we[c] also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4 perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.
Through these times of trial, it is easy to become disheartened and down… BUT!
WE have a HOPE greater than the circumstances that surround us.
We are Gods family and as such are heirs with Christ in all the promises of scripture. Jesus promises us that He will never leave us nor forsake us, and that we should therefore walk and live in this revelation and realisation.
We need to discern how to hear Gods voice in the noise of this world. To live in the knowledge that we are His chosen people.
12 Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Colossians 3:12 New International Version (NIV)
You are also allowed to enter into the most Holy of Holies. Do not allow the devil’s schemes and lies to trick you from entering into all that God has promised, all that your Heavenly Father has gifted you.
I mentioned at the beginning of this pandemic that we need to:
DIG 4 VICTORY!
By digging into the; Word
And I feel I need to add
Fellowship and activity. Let us not become cold or indifferent to the call of Christ.
19 Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, 21 and since we have a great priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching. Hebrews 10:19-25
We can still meet together, by phone calls, getting involved in the services and commenting, by getting over our fear or lack of knowledge of technology and joining in the bible study and after service coffee on zoom. It would be great to connect with you all.
Remember our Father loves you more than you can ever imagine.
19 And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus. Ephesians 4:19 New International Version (NIV)
4 You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. 1 John 4:4 New International Version (NIV)
Much love and blessings
Keep safe and well
Yours in Christ service
