DESCRIPTION:Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Online Training Session – Wednesday 10th November 7 – 8.30pm\nFollowing many requests that I have received\, I have arranged some training to be provided in relation to the (Disclosure and Barring Service) DBS. \nThis is completely separate to any training you may have attended provided by DDC (the company that oversees the checks on behalf of the URC). \nThis training session will be provided by Sue Davison who is the Regional Outreach Advisor for the Disclosure and Barring Service and nicely complements training that is being provided by myself in relation to safer recruitment\, contained within the Intermediate Safeguarding Training sessions.\nShe will discuss various points including – \n\nUnderstanding more clearly the role of DBS\nUnderstanding the benefits of DBS and our churches working together\nTo get a greater understanding of what ‘regulated activity’ means to our churches\nUnderstanding different types of harm\nTo have an understanding of how barring works in relation to DBS checks and the importance of our duty to refer these concerns\nHave a clear understanding of consequences of various actions whilst in the workplace\n\nThere will also be an opportunity to ask questions that you may have and I will also be in attendance to assist with any specific URC questions. \nTo reserve a place please contact Matt via email – matt.safeguarding@urcyorkshire.org.uk \nBest wishes \nMatt Knowles\, Safeguarding Adviser \n

Last year was particularly hard on young people\, so we are glad to be able to offer a residential weekend to socialise\, have fun and join in all sorts of activities with friends. \nThere will also be time for young people to try praying and to look at the Bible together in a way that will be completely accessible if you don’t have any faith or church experience. \nThe cost of the weekend is only £25 per person. SUMMARY:Little Big Day Out
DESCRIPTION:‘Little Big Day Out’ is a chance for families and children from your church to have fun and spend time together after so many months of isolation and limits on our lives. We cannot offer a large organised programme due to ongoing Covid restrictions but we can provide some space for fun and  ‘time out’. We hope you and your families will find it valuable to just be together. \nTickets for this event are already at a reduced price but further subsidy is available\, so please get in touch to discuss your church or families’ circumstance. Tickets are needed for everyone over 90cm tall (however old you are). \nYou can click on the poster below to download a copy. Download a booking form here. Bookings can be made by families or or you can arrange a group to go together. Unaccompanied adults are not allowed into the park but any adults who are taking or helping with children are welcome. Bookings need to be received by Weds 1st Sep. Please contact us if you have any questions. \nWe look forward to seeing you again in September 🙂
