Our first Yorkshire Synod Lay Preachers and Worship Leaders conference took place between the 22nd and the 24th July at the wonderful setting of Wydale Hall conference centre near Scarborough. A good range of people came from different areas in our Synod and all who attended agreed it was an excellent weekend with a good balance of input, participation and time for reflection. Rev Adam Scott from Northern College was inspiring as our guest speaker as he challenged us to reflect on our understanding of our personal faith and how we can share our faith with others. Adam also facilitated a  session on spiritual resilience which was particularly well received. Everyone was pleased to have the support of our  Moderator, Rev Jamie Kissack, who hosted the weekend and led our worship. Dr Lesley Coote, Stepwise coordinator, also shared in our time together and led a session on what Stepwise offers.
