Some of Yorkshire Synod’s URC Ministers and Lay Leaders recently enjoyed time away at the annual Ministers’ Summer School held at Wydale Hall from 9th-12th June. We hear a ‘super time’ was had by all, and made even better with lovely weather.
Rev Nicola Robinson, Leeds Partnership Minister reflected, “Summer School is always such a gift: so refreshing and revitalising. An opportunity to spend time with colleagues: reading and engaging with Biblical texts and in prayer and worship alongside excursions to York Minster and a games night.”
Rev Simon Cross, Hull Area Minister added, “The time together with other ministers at Wydale was really positive. Learning from the experiences, and the experience, of others is very helpful for someone who, like me, is in the early stages of ministry. The Yorkshire ministers are quite diverse in terms of outlook and experience, and this diversity helps to enrich discussions and sharing – there’s a real sense that we’re all in this together.”
We hope they have returned, refreshed and refilled to equip them for their ministry serving our churches in Yorkshire.
