Over the weekend of 7-9th of July it is Skipton Pride which celebrates and stands alongside members of the LGBTQI+ Community. Members of Trinity and St Andrew’s (soon to be one church -Trinity St Andrew’s) are getting involved in 2 ways.
• Hosting a community stall on Museum walk from 11 am to 5pm on the 9th. We will be giving out cakes, doing craft and engaging people in positive conversation.
• PRIDE PRAISE event at St Andrew’s Church, Newmarket Street on July 9th at 5pm. Join them as they celebrate the God who loves us all. With guests Jason McMahon and Ben Riley, who were one of the first same sex couples to get married in the Methodist Church. It would be great to have as many as possible there from across the Synod.
St Andrew’s appreciates that not everyone will feel able to be involved but please do pray for this important way of engaging with our community.
Grace and peace
Andrew Webb, Minister, St Andrews & Trinity Churches, Skipton
Hi! I am an elder at Kendal URC and am leading a special worship on Sunday 23 July during Kendal’s first ever pride event. I’m just wondering if you have any resources, (suggested readings, hymns, sermon-style address) that you would be willing to share with a lay person such as me…any help very much appreciated!
