Brackenhall URC celebrated Harvest in their service this year by sharing food together between reflections, readings and songs. Elder, Penny Weynberg, explains further:
“On Sunday 24th October, we celebrated harvest with a shared meal of pumpkin soup with home-made rolls followed by apple cake and cream. We enjoyed the food as part of our service using material adapted from CofE resources Season of Creation for use in Cafe Church.
We had four discussions in the service between the readings reflections and songs, the first on autumn, the second on potential, the third on perspective (particularly ours/human verses God’s) and the last discussing needs and concerns leading into our prayers of intercession.
We also collected food which was donated to our local community larder at the Chestnut Centre (photo attached).”
