West Park URC, Harrogate has been helping out Girlguiding North Yorkshire West by offering their church premises as a venue for First Aid skills checks after each bi-monthly worship. The church is open, warm and Covid secure with lots of room for social distancing allowing 9 leaders to be skill checked on each occasion.
Church Secretary, Barbara Jones reported, “The leaders have all completed their First Aid Training on line and have to demonstrate their practical skills such as CPR before they are allowed to be a First Aider thus allowing their unit of Rainbows, Brownies, Guides or Rangers to resume face-to-face meetings. It only takes 10 minutes per leader but has a huge positive impact for the girls when they can get back to meeting together in person.”
