“God loves all sorts”
This was the message from Westfield Wyke to their community Scarecrow Festival earlier this month. Church Secretary, Kath Lonsdale, tells the story:
“The event was well attended with many people passing by and created opportunities to talk to families and couples going around looking for the scarecrows outside places and homes. Our scarecrow ‘God loves all sorts’ was put together by our Sunday children along with finding and colouring the bible quotes. Individual people shapes, coloured in, were all along the railings, which were contributed by our Rainbows and Brownies who are still meeting on zoom. One of our ‘craft and chat’ ladies crocheted bunting and two church members contributed homemade cake and biscuits to give away to people passing by.”
