The two churches in the Huddersfield pastorate have had a busy August running holiday activities for families. Each church hosted one afternoon a week. The sessions started with lunch for all, followed by board games and craft activities. 26 families participated, most of whom had no previous connection to either church.

Helen Snashall, the CRCW in the pastorate said, “Its been a great summer. We designed the sessions for parents and children to come together so we could start to build relationships with the parents and found that by offering some crafts aimed at adults, not just children, that the sessions became a space for the parents to have some ‘me’ time as well as for the children to enjoy themselves.”
The holidays were concluded with a Teddy Bears’ Picnic for younger ones run jointly by Waverley URC, the FOCAL Centre and the Salvation Army in Huddersfield. Over 30 children and their parents enjoyed a time of stories, activities and a picnic lunch and Revd Jamie Kissack came along to join in the fun.
