On Sunday 30th January, during the morning service at Christchurch (United/Methodist) Ilkley, Mr Chris Mannall, a member of the church was commissioned as an Assembly Accredited Lay Preacher.
Chris explained – “The service was led by Rev Roberta Topham on the theme ‘Dare to Speak!’ with the Commissioning carried out by Jill and Kath. I was part of the final cohort going through the TLS Gateways into Worship. Roberta tutored me and my placement was at The Bridge Church, Otley. Looking back I completed the TLS Foundation Course from 2012 to 2014 so the Commissioning was at the end of a long process of discernment for me – although I have been developing as a regular worship leader since moving to Ilkley in 2003”.
The Synod wishes Chris well and prays he has a blessed and fruitful ministry.

Chris, I was pleased to read of your commissioning. It seems a long-time since we saw you at the Bridge Church before finalizing your placement in Ilkley. I appreciated your leadership and sincerity whenever you were with us in Otley.
